SQL Injection attacks continue to plague the web, costing companies money, customers and goodwill!

If your business has a web site that provides any type of dynamic database interaction for your visitors such as a contact form, order form, comments form or even a search box, you need to ensure that your web site and database are hardened against SQL Injection attacks! SQL Injection is a devious yet innovative technique which allows hackers to access sensitive customer information and/or can be used to inject malicious code into to your database which is then served up to visitors to your site, infecting their systems for who knows what malevolent purpose.

The following recent articles delve into the SQL Injection issue and its consequences in more detail. If you have a web site, we urge you to read these articles:

CIO: SQL Injection Attacks Led to Massive Data Breaches

CIO: No More Excuses for SQL Injection Attacks

IBD: Don't Mess with SQL injection; 100,000 websites wipe out

SQL Injection attacks can cause a wide variety of issues for your organization including significant downtime, loss of revenue, irreparable loss of data, damage to your company's goodwill, loss of customers, public ridicule and even litigation and penalties. SQL Injection is a serious threat and must be taken seriously!

Fortunately, your web site and database can be hardened to eliminate SQL Injection attacks using proven techniques, which will not only ensure the security of any proprietary and confidential information, it will eliminate the possibility that visitors are being infected with malware from your site.

If you have further questions about SQL Injection, or would like to have your site reviewed, please contact us. We have helped several companies correct SQL Injection problems and harden their web applications and databases.

Libertas team grows

We are very happy to announce two excellent additions to the Libertas Technologies team!

Josh Wood:
Originally a Homewood, AL native, Josh moved with his family to Washington Courthouse, OH as a child. Josh earned a B.S. in Computer Science from Wright State University and while at WSU, he worked as a member of the Intelligent Systems Laboratory assisting in projects ranging from facial recognition to 3D modeling from a 2D capture.

After graduating from WSU, he worked at NCR for approximately five and a half years, programming a self-service device (ATMs, kiosks, etc.) network monitoring solution suite and also became a Microsoft Certified Professional in .NET technologies. Josh is a very talented programmer who is also skilled in Java and has excellent customer service skills, having working with NCR customers to ensure that their ATM networks were up and running.

Josh enjoys time with his girlfriend and his two dogs, running a small record label, playing the guitar, watching sports (rugby and college football), and learning to ride his new motorcycle. He also enjoys dabbling in video game programming and keeping up-to-date with new programming technologies.

While Josh has sharply honed technical skills, he understands that the real value of software is helping businesses streamline processes and save and/or make money, and is already hard at work helping our customers build high return on investment business solutions!

Andrew Royce:
Andrew is currently a student at Cincinnati State and recently joined the Libertas team as a co-op. Andrew is enjoying the opportunity to put his education to work in the real world as he works with Libertas customers and team members to build innovative software solutions that help solve business challenges and save and/or make money.

Prior to joining Libertas, Andrew worked as a software analyst at Emerson Power Transmission where he focused on Application Development, B2B site development and E-Commerce.

Andrew is a life-long resident of Cincinnati and graduate of Elder High School. He has been involved in community organizations such as Camp Stepping Stones, Habitat for Humanity, and also has tutored at grade schools throughout Cincinnati.

Andrew is expected to graduate in late 2009 and is looking forward to joining the Libertas team full-time.
